Just on our doorstep is a wealth of sight-seeing, sports and activities for all interests and age-groups. Some of the nearest attractions are:
Scone Palace is the original home of the 'stone of destiny' where the Kings of Scotland were crowned. Fifteen hundred years ago, it was the capital of the Pictish kingdom and the centre of the ancient Celtic church. It now a major attraction in the region drawing tourists from afar and also houses Perth Racecourse for the turf enthusiast. |

Glamis Castle, 'A place of legends and fairytales', has been a royal residence since 1372. Childhood home of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother and birthplace of Her Royal Highness The Princess Margaret. It is also the legendary setting for Shakespeare's famous play 'Macbeth'.
Kirriemuir, the birthplace in 1860 of J.M. Barrie, the author of Peter Pan’s adventures which have captivated children for over a century.

Local Cities
Perth and Dundee are wonderful, historic, cultural cities. They are also bustling moderns cities with plenty of opportnities for shopping and nightlife. Dundee is a modern city with its Discovery Point, Verdant Works, Repertory Theatre and stunning Contemporary Arts Centre. Perth, on the other hand, has its working mills, argicultural centre, Theatre and Concert Hall as well as many museums and historic buildings. |

Fishing
The hotel is conveniently located for the Tay and some of its tributaries. The Tay is one of the premier salmon rivers in Europe. It boasts the UK record for a fish of 64lbs caught by Miss Ballantyne in 1922. We have comprehensive information on local rivers and lochs, including detailed maps, where to obtain permits, local Ghillies and tackle shops, as well as information on local angling clubs, organisations and the weather.
Hunting, Shooting and Stalking
You can shoot in Scotland 365 days a year. There are literally tens of thousands of acres of some of Scotland's finest field sport opportunities. They are only a short distance from the hotel and access is readily available in most cases unlike many of the Highland estates. |
