A golf trip to remember
Perthshire has probably the widest range of inland golf clubs in Scotland, with over 40 to choose from, all in fabulous scenery. And Coupar Angus is ideally placed as your centre for a real golf trip to remember.

There are two very useful voucher schemes that are worth considering if you’re coming to Perthshire to play golf.  They give you reduced-price access to 31 of the county’s 40 courses, all within an easy drive of The Red House.  You can buy the passes at all the courses that take part in the schemes; for full details see http://www.gateway-to-the-scottish-highlands.com/Golf-courses.html.

The Perthshire Green Card covers 19 of the county’s fabulous 18-hole courses, giving you 3 rounds for £65 and 5 rounds for just £99. The courses cover the entire county from Comrie in the west to Blairgowrie in the East, and Blair Atholl in the North to Kinross and Milnathort in the south.

With most courses charging £20-25 per round, the Green Card will pay for itself very fast if you’re up for a weekend or a week’s golfing.  There are some restrictions and supplements, and you’re advised to book a tee time to avoid disappointment.

The Perthshire Highlands golf tickets gives you access to 12 village 9-hole layouts and, despite the name, they aren’t all in the hilly northern part of the county: Milnathort features on this card too.  The ticket buys you whole days, not just rounds.  £70 buys you five days’ play, while a long weekend will cost £45 for three full days of golf – up to 27 holes per day if you get your tee times right.

What’s more, the Perthshire Highlands tickets last all season, so you can use them on more than one golf trip.  Again, there are some restrictions and you are advised to book tee-times in advance.

If you enjoy at day at the races or a dram of the good stuff, the tickets are even more worthwhile.  You could have a truly sporting weekend and combine a couple of days’ golf with a flutter at Perth Racecourse.  Or you might prefer to follow your round with a tour of one of four whisky-themed attractions in Perthshire.  Your golfing passes include discounted admission to all of these.

When you get back to The Red House you can enjoy an excellent dinner of locally-sourced food before continuing your tasting session with our range of malt whiskies of all ages and from every whisky-producing region of Scotland.

We are a golfer-friendly hotel and can offer you all the drying facilities you need (our weather isn’t always so golfer-friendly as we’d like) as well as a hot shower or bath and a comfy bed to relax your weary limbs.  Our full Scottish breakfasts will keep you going through the morning’s round and we can provide you with a packed lunch if required.

In fact, if you’re coming to Perthshire on a golf trip, The Red House is the ideal base: central, friendly, family-run and well-appointed, we can supply everything you need for a memorable week or weekend.  Get in touch today to arrange your visit and we look forward to welcoming you soon.

TESTIMONIALS
"Alan, I wanted to thank you for a great weekend.  All of the lads really enjoyed the hotel, loved the food, appreciated the service and noted your attention to try and keep us all happy.  Of course, the golf was great too, and that helped. We are a well travelled group, we have been going on golfing trips together for 25 years, so the lads know what good looks like and they loved this weekend all round. So big thanks to you for all your efforts.  Hope the rest of the season goes well." Ian Grimwade Stayed July 2017
